Another great turnout for Run4Leah's Buffalo Marathon Team with over 100 volunteers and nearly 100 runners participating over Memorial Day Weekend! We had volunteers drive all the way from Indiana to show their support, Leah herself ran the Half Marathon and we had phenomenal participation from Leah's teammates from the North Tonawanda Varsity Track Team & Alumni.

It continues to amaze all of us involved with Run4Leah/CureNF at what a supportive WNY community we live in and all of the wonderful people, locally and across the country, we have come to know and love because of NF. A heartfelt "Thank You" to each and every one of you! We truly could not do this year in and year out without your dedicated support. Once again, we will solicit research proposals at the end of the summer, and decide where to donate our hard earned Neurofibromatosis-Type 2 research funding. The Avastin treatment that Leah is now receiving, is just one example of research conducted years ago that is only now providing some relief and alternative to surgery for those with NF2.
2014 Fundraising Campaign Update:

Leah continues to do well on the Avastin, showing no signs of any new tumor growth and her hearing is stable 9 months into treatment. She will finish up Middle School with high honors and as President of the National Junior Honor Society, recently passed the torch on to the new group of upcoming 8th graders. Leah is excited to begin high school in the Fall, but will spend the first week of school away at her "Hunt Of a Lifetime" trip in Quebec, Canada with brother Chris and her dad. She waits with great anticipation to learn about and participate in both caribou and black bear hunts as well as go fishing for Arctic Char and Brown Speckled Trout!
